Baku. Ulkar Rashidgizi – APA. The running order for the first semifinal of the Icelandic selection Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins has been announced. On Saturday, the first five acts will compete to qualify for the final, APA reports quoting ecstoday.com Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins will consist of three semifinals, to be held on January 14th, 21th and 28th. A recap show screening all the qualifying songs will be aired on February 3rd, while the grand final is set for February 11th.

A total of 15 acts will fight to represent Iceland in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. Each semifinal will feature five entries. Two of them will go through the final thanks to 50% televoting and jury deliberation. Therefore, six finalists will ultimately fight for the ticket to Baku.

Germany will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 and selects their entry in a series of competitive heats and a national final Unser Star für Baku 2012, which is organized jointly by the public broadcasters ARD and NDR and the private television channel ProSieben and sponsored by Brainpool company.

SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster has announced the 2012 Melodifestivalen semifininals line up and running order. The Swedish Eurovision 2012 national selection will kick off on the 4th of February with Sean Banan opening the semfinals in Vaxjo and Danny Saucedo closing the semfinals on the 25th of February as the 32nd act in Malmo. The Melodifestivalen final is scheduled to be held on March the 10th in Stockholm.

The Danish National Broadcaster (DR) informed today that nine acts will compete in this year’s Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the Danish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Even though, the line-up initially consisted of ten acts, due to a breach of the EBU rules, one song has been disqualified and the performed was forced to withdraw from the competition.
On January 5th, the Danish national broadcaster revealed the line-up of this year’s Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the national selection of Denmark for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Ten acts were supposed to battle for the golden ticket to Baku, but one of them has been disqualified due to a breach of the EBU rules.
The song Nowhere performed by the 23-years-old artist Tine Lynggaard broke the rules of the competition as it was released before the date allowed by the European Broadcasting Union. This means that the young artist will leave the competition and the remaining nine acts will fight for the Danish ticket to Baku, the host city of the Eurovision Song Contest 2012.
On November 18, 2011, Belgian broadcaster VRT has announced that Laura van den Bruel (aka Iris) will represent her country at the 2012 edition of Europe’s Favourite TV Show in Baku.
Armenian newspapers spread false information that the above-mentioned countries refused to participate in the Eurovision contest in Baku. But the national selections and announcements about the results showed that the situation is different.
The European Broadcasting Union will confirm the list of countries participating in the Eurovision 2012 Song Contest in Baku and publish it in the end of January.
