"There is a need for regulatory measures at the legal level to prevent damage to nature," Muhsin Şentürk, General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Türkiye, told journalists, APA reports.
He also described the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) as an effective platform for addressing the damage caused by anthropogenic impacts on nature: "The holding of COP29 in Azerbaijan is a major success. As we know, 70,000 people from 197 countries are participating in this conference. The significance of this event lies in its role as a platform for discussing ways to prevent the harm humans have caused to nature. The damage to nature can only be addressed through legal frameworks. I believe international cooperation is crucial for the protection of nature," he emphasized.
