"We are a world leader in water reuse in agriculture. We use new technologies for irrigation," said Director General of the Israel Meteorological Service Amir Givati during his speech at the high-level opening event "Promoting the Water Lifeline for Climate, Nature and People" held within COP29, APA reports.
He said that Israel has been facing a water shortage for decades. Precipitation is low or there is a large amount of precipitation in a short period of time. Therefore, it must deal with the effects of climate change. Israel offers solutions for this: "We get most of our drinking water from the Mediterranean Sea through desalination. Israel is ready to share this knowledge and technology with neighboring and other countries."
