A high-level event on Strengthening Climate Information and Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems for Increased Resilience was held during the 29th (COP29) session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, APA reports.
At the event, international partner organizations involved in early warning systems participated, including the World Meteorological Organization, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, the International Telecommunication Union, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the Global Climate Fund, the UN Environment Programme, the Asian Development Bank, as well as representatives from various leading organizations and scientific institutes.
The importance of early warning systems was highlighted during the meeting, and the "Baku Climate Dialogue" initiative was promoted.
Note that on October 28 of this year, the "Strengthening Climate Information and Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems for Increased Resilience" project was approved by the Global Climate Fund in Azerbaijan.
