"Discussions held during COP29 provide a unique opportunity for us to find joint solutions," Chairperson of Azerbaijan's State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs Bahar Muradova said during the High-level Roundtable on Children, Youth and Climate Action at COP29, APA reports.
She noted that the impacts of climate change are not only ecological but also personal and social: "The disruptions caused by the effects of climate change on education and health directly impact children, families, and communities worldwide. Therefore, ensuring their comprehensive development and protection from environmental impacts is not only an investment in the future but also aligns with the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals. Human development is at the heart of our efforts, and the importance of this focus is further heightened in the context of climate change. As climate impacts affect every aspect of human development, from health and education to economic stability, it is crucial to provide comprehensive support for children."
