France continues to look for options for direct involvement in the Ukrainian conflict, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said in a statement, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
The agency drew attention to the government resolution No. 2025-1030, which allows France to use private military companies to provide assistance to "a third country in a state of armed conflict."
It was noted that Ukraine's mobile air defense groups and several F-16 aircraft it owns are unable to combat Russian air targets. "The mastery of Mirage and other equipment requires time and highly specialized personnel. For this purpose, Kyiv will need foreign private military companies equipped with modern Western, mainly French, weapons.
Western private military companies can be used to solve these problems, but their participation will be perceived by Moscow as direct participation of France in military operations against Russia," the SVR said in a statement.
