Russian President Vladimir Putin has authorized bailiffs to collect information on Russians' employment, accounts and income in Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

Putin has signed a law ratifying an agreement that allows the Russian Federal Bailiff Service to request information about Russian citizens from bailiffs in other countries.

Note that the agreement was signed by Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in May 2025.

The agreement covers information on employment, property, accounts, vehicles, shares in companies and other assets.

However, Belarus has agreed to disclose only the existence of bank accounts without revealing the amounts held in them or the names of the banks. Uzbekistan has stated that it will not respond to requests based on decisions by non-judicial bodies and notaries, while Kazakhstan has restricted the transfer of banking information in accordance with its national legislation.
