"During the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's daily communication, monitoring of the course of the fighting, and visits to the liberated territories were among the important factors contributing to success in information warfare," US military expert John Spencer said during the presentation of the book "The War for Karabakh: Strategy, Technology and Victory" in Baku, APA reports.
According to him, in modern warfare, it is not enough to merely announce the liberation of territories; it is also important to be present in those territories and demonstrate this to the public.
"The President's role in information warfare, particularly his daily communication, monitoring of the course of the war, and announcements of the liberation of territories, was of great importance. However, in today's world, this is not enough. He visited those territories and was directly present at the scene. We witnessed the President and his wife's visits to the liberated territories throughout the war. This daily communication played an important role, particularly in combating disinformation spread on social media. Not only statements about liberation but also actual visits to those territories were among the key factors in achieving success in information warfare," Spencer emphasized.
