A passenger flight from London to Poland was forced to make an emergency landing following a bomb threat, The Sun reports.

The Polish Airlines plane, carrying 181 people, was diverted to Warsaw Modlin Airport following the threat on Tuesday morning.

The incident came just hours after a fighter jet was scrambled to support a Wizz Air flight from London following a similar threat on Monday.

Emergency services rushed to Warsaw Modlin Airport on Tuesday morning, and the airport was locked down.

Bomb disposal teams were deployed to inspect the aircraft and passengers' luggage after the plane landed at around 10 a.m.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 departed London Heathrow Airport at 6:30 a.m. and was heading to Warsaw Chopin Airport.

However, the flight was diverted at 9:54 a.m. “due to information on an explosive device on board,” Modlin Airport said in a statement.

A spokesperson added that the airport in Poland's capital would remain closed until further notice.

After landing, the aircraft was directed to a designated location while authorities assessed the threat.

Passengers reportedly began evacuating the plane, with authorities escorting families into the arrivals hall.
