"The Russian military base in Gyumri does not currently hinder Armenia’s intention to join the European Union," said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a press conference following a government meeting today, APA reports.
“Yes, Armenia has adopted a law to begin the process of joining the European Union. However, we are not yet at the stage where the 102nd base of the Russian Armed Forces blocks our field of vision. If we see that it does, then we will think about how to move forward so that we do not face problems,” Pashinyan noted.
The prime minister also emphasized that Armenia has no intention of damaging its relations with Russia and will not have such intentions.
