Russia is not threatening European countries, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on rising tensions surrounding the “West-2025” military exercises conducted jointly with Belarus, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to Peskov, such exercises always draw the attention of neighboring countries. “Under normal, constructive, peaceful, and friendly coexistence, representatives of neighboring states always have the opportunity to observe these exercises. This has been standard practice. Now, when Western Europe takes a hostile stance against us, all of this results in an emotional reaction for those countries. I would like to recall our president’s words: Russia has never threatened anyone and is not threatening European countries.
It is not Russia advancing toward Europe with its military infrastructure, but NATO—as part of the confrontation rather than peace—moving toward our borders,” the Kremlin spokesperson emphasized.
