Kremlin confirms Dmitry Kozak's resignation-UPDATED

The Kremlin has confirmed the resignation of Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Kozak stepped down voluntarily.

He added that the Kremlin has not yet issued an official decree regarding the resignation.

Dmitry Kozak has resigned from his position as deputy head of the Russian Presidential Administration, APA's Moscow bureau reports, citing Interfax.

Kozak, born in 1958 in Ukraine’s Kirovohrad region, has held various high-ranking positions, including Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Minister for Regional Development, and presidential envoy for the Southern Federal District. Since 2020, he served as deputy head of the Presidential Administration.

Earlier reports by The New York Times indicated that Kozak had advised President Vladimir Putin in 2022 against sending troops to Ukraine and, in 2025, proposed initiating peace talks and implementing domestic reforms, including bringing security forces under government control.
