The Kremlin has reacted to a controversial Christmas message by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which he said that Ukrainians wished for “his death” without directly naming who was being referred to, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described Zelensky’s statement as uncivilized and accused the Ukrainian leader of being inadequate.
“This is (Zelensky’s Christmas message – ed.) uncivilized and outrageous. I would like to ask whether he is capable of making adequate decisions on the conflict through political and diplomatic means,” Peskov said.
It should be noted that a day earlier, Zelensky said in his Christmas address, without naming anyone, that Ukrainians wished for “his death.” In Russia, the statement was interpreted as Zelensky wishing death upon Russian President Vladimir Putin.
