The plant, which will start operating in Kazakhstan in 2027, will produce artillery shells, including NATO-standard shells, for the first time, Kazakh media wrote, citing the first deputy director of the Great Sky company, Andrey Tikhonenko, APA reports.
According to him, the ammunition will be produced at four defense enterprises within the framework of the ASPAN project.
These enterprises will produce shells for mine throwers and artillery ammunition used in the Kazakh Armed Forces, and NATO-standard shells will be produced for export.
“The project has great prospects, because all the raw materials necessary for production - metal, cotton, acids, etc. - are available in Kazakhstan,” said Andrey Tikhonenko.
