The Armenian Parliament has ratified the agreement on the country’s participation in the European Union’s crisis management operations with 55 votes in favor and 24 abstentions, APA reports, citing Armenian media.
According to the report, Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan stated that within the framework of the agreement, Armenia “will not only be a consumer of security,” but will also become a participant in the measures implemented by European partners.
According to him, there are 20 missions operating under the document, and their mandates are determined either by the UN Security Council or by the inviting party.
Kostanyan added that financial resources for participation are not yet provided for in the budget. If necessary, the government's reserve fund will be used.
