Russia and Turkey consider necessary to take effective measures to settle â€œfrozen conflictsâ€

Moscowâ€“APA. â€œConsidering the direct relation of the peace and security in the Eurasian region to the stability in the Caucasus, Russia and Turkey urge to take effective measures to settle â€œfrozen conflictsâ€ that could destabilize the situation in the South Caucasusâ€, says the joint declaration signed by Russian and Turkish presidents Dmitriy Medvedev and Abdullah Gul in Moscow, APA reports quoting RIA-Novosty.
The presidents characterized the Turkeyâ€™s proposal of the Caucasian Cooperation and Stability Platform, in this context, as a constructive initiative completing the international mechanisms directed toward elimination of distrust between the sides involved in the solution to the â€œfrozen conflictsâ€.

Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev said there was no need in interference of the third countries in the solution of Caucasian problems. â€œThe August crisis last year showed how important the coordination between the regional countries during such threats is and how we can to overcome such problems without outside interferenceâ€.
