External debt of unrecognized â€œTransnistria Republicâ€ grew by 120 times

Tiraspol â€“ APA. External debt of unrecognized â€œTransnistria Republicâ€ has grown from $15 million up to $1.8 billion within the past 15 years. APA reports that the leadership of the unrecognized republic says the principal came from gas import from Russia. â€œTransnistria Republicâ€ paid $287 per 1000 cubic meters of gas in December last year, while this year the price increased by $30. Gazrpom and the unrecognized republic have not signed an official agreement on gas delivery. But one of the pipelines to Europe passes through the territory of â€œTransnistria Republicâ€. This allows the unrecognized republic to supply its population with gas. By the end of last year gas debt of â€œTransnistria Republicâ€ had reached $1,473 billion. Gazprom sued Moldovagaz company for paying the debts. The court granted the claim of Russia. According to the courtâ€™s decision Moldova is to pay $42 million to Russia.
