US to discuss the air base in Kyrgyzstan with Russia

Washingtonâ€“APA. The United States will discuss Manas air base with Russia, Spokesman for the US State Department Robert Wood told Voice of America, APA reports. He didnâ€™t specify the date of talks. â€œProbably the talks will be held with Russia. I donâ€™t know when, but it is clear that it should be discussed with Russiaâ€. Wood said they negotiated the issue with Kyrgyz authorities as well.

Kyrgyz president Kurmanbek Bakiyev announced during his official visit to Russia on February 3 that they decided to close US air base in the country. The decision was made after that Russia announced its plans to allocate two billion dollar of credits and 150 million dollar of assistance to Kyrgyzstan.
