Baku-APA. A leader of Russia’s opposition Left Front movement, Sergei Udaltsov, wrote in his Twitter on Wednesday that he was detained by police while marching in a crowd in central Moscow, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.

This is Udaltsov’s third detention in the past three days.

“I was detained at the Patriarshiye [Ponds], I was just pulled from the crowd. People went further, towards the Barrikadnaya [subway station],” Udaltsov said.

His wife Anastasia wrote in her Twitter that Udaltsov was charged with disobeying police orders.

An Interior Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday Moscow police have detained about thirty participants of unsanctioned peaceful protest against Vladimir Putin’s return to presidency near the downtown Kitai-Gorod metro station, which anti-corruption blogger Alexei Navalny labeled an “ongoing day-and-night folk festivity’.

Opposition figureheads, including Navalny and It-girl Ksenia Sobchak were among those detained.

After the arrests, Udaltsov invited protestors to gather at the Patriarshiye Ponds, an affluent residential area in downtown Moscow.
