Armenian agricultural minister removed

The political council of the Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party made decision to recall Armenian agricultural minister Gerasim Alaverdyan from his post, OYK leader, Secretary of the Armenian National Council Arthur Baghdasaryan told a press conference on December 27, APA reports quoting â€œnews.amâ€.
According to Baghdasaryan, the decision was made jointly with Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan. The new ministerâ€™s name will be clear in 2011.
Asked whether pressure was exerted on Orinats Yerkir to recall the minister, Baghdasaryan said: â€œIt is not easy to place our party under pressure. It is the decision by the Orinats Yerkir political force. However, we discussed the decision with the Armenian President.â€
According to OYK leader, there are likely candidates for the post, however, the official did not disclose their names.
