Kyrgyz security forces placed on alert

Bishkek â€“ APA. â€œThe interim government of Kyrgyzstan mobilized all security forces to restore stability violated as a result confrontation between the Kyrgyz people and local Uzbeks in south of the country. The law-enforcement agencies were placed on alertâ€, said head of the interim government of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbayeva on Friday, APA reports. The interim government appointed commandants to Osh and Uzgen cities, as well as the neighbouring districts of Karassu and Arava. The law-enforcement bodies were urged to prevent any attempt to violate stability. â€œUnfortunately there were casualties in the confrontations. According to the reports, five were killed and more than 70 were wounded in Osh. Dozens of cars were burnt. Shops and administrative buildings were plundered. I am calling on our citizens to remain unprovokedâ€, said Otunbayeva.
