The interim government has stated that there is no need for the state of emergency as the situation has been stabilized in the region.
After the opposition ousted President of Kyrgyzstan early in April, Kurmanbek Bakiyev found asylum in Jalalabad. 3 were killed, 70 injured in the clashes between the government forces and supporters of the president in Jalalabad and Osh. The interim government in Bishkek stated that ousted president Bakiyev was responsible for the clashes and declared the state of emergency.
