Police used rubber bullets against the protesters who tried to climb over the fence surrounding the police headquarters. Tens of people, including opposition leader Levan Gachechiladze and his brother, popular singer Georgy, Conservative Party leader Zivad Dzidziguri and Future Party leader Georgy Maisashvili, were injured. The Interior Ministry accused opposition supporters of starting the clash. Deputy Minister Ekaterina Zguladze called the opposition actions a “terrible law violation against the police”. “These actions should be valued not a crackdown on demonstration, but assaulting the police”, said Zguladze. She said the protesters tried to enter the police headquarters, 29 people, including 6 police and one journalist, were injured and hospitalized. “There is no threat for their life”, said Zguladze. Despite the protest of doctors, Gachechiladze and his brother left the clinic. The opposition supporters are continuing the protest action outside the parliament.
