Anti-terror operational regime cancelled in Chechnya

Moscow – APA. An anti-terror operational regime established in 1999 in Chechnya was ended on April 16, 2009, Russian Anti-Terror Office declared, APA reports quoting RIA-Novosty. By order of the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, the organizing of anti-terror activities in Chechnya was changed, the center said. The anti-terror operations in Chechnya will be conducted according to the common rules being in force in other regions of the country.

Chechnya was declared the area of anti-terror operational regime in 1999 by the decree issued by former president Boris Yeltsin.
