Growth was observed in major indices on U.S. and European stock exchanges, APA-Economics reports.

Based on the results of the trading session, two of the main indices in the U.S. stock markets closed higher.

The Dow Jones index increased by 1.73%, or 874.86 points, to 51,561.93 points, while the S&P 500 index rose by 0.41%, or 30.63 points, to 7,584.31 points. The Nasdaq Composite index, however, fell by 0.09%, or 23.01 points, to 26,830.96 points.

Positive dynamics were also observed in European markets. The United Kingdom's FTSE 100 index increased by 0.27% to 10,360.32 points, Germany's DAX index rose by 0.60% to 24,944.95 points, and France's CAC 40 index gained 1.15% to reach 8,244.29 points.

In the Asia-Pacific region, selling generally prevailed. Japan's Nikkei 225 index declined by 1.20%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index fell by 0.76%, China's CSI 300 index decreased by 0.23%, and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index dropped by 0.73%.

Analysts attribute the dynamics in global markets to investors assessing positive signals regarding the U.S. economy and expectations related to interest rates. At the same time, profit-taking and concerns about regional economies increased selling pressure in Asian markets.
