On November 14, the indices in the US and European stock markets mainly fell, APA-Economics reports.
In the US markets, the Dow Jones Industrial Average index decreased by 0.65% to 47,147.48 points, the S&P 500 index decreased by 0.05% to 6,734.11 points, and the NYSE Composite index, among other US indicators, decreased by 0.30% to 21,470.26 points.
The NASDAQ Composite increased by 0.13% to 22,900.59 points, and the S&P/TSX Composite index increased by 0.24% to 30,326.46 points.
A negative trend was observed in the main indices in the European stock markets. The Euro Stoxx 50 index fell 0.85% to 5,693.77 points, the UK's FTSE 100 index fell 1.11% to 9,698.37 points, and Germany's DAX index fell 0.69% to 23,876.55 points. France's CAC 40 index fell 0.76% to 8,170.09 points, while Spain's IBEX 35 index fell 1.40%, one of the biggest losses of the day, to 16,345.90 points.
Analysts note that the main reason for the instability in US markets was the weakening of investors' expectations for interest rate cuts and the resurgence of valuation risks in the technology sector. In European markets, weakening economic growth indicators, volatility in energy prices and negative signals about the Chinese economy increased selling pressure. Against this background, risk appetite has weakened in both the US and European markets, and investors have begun to take a more cautious stance.
