The price of gold futures for April 2026 delivery on the Comex exchange fell below $4,800 per troy ounce for the first time since January 22, while silver futures for March 2026 delivery fell below $80 per troy ounce for the first time since January 12, according to trading platform data, APA reports.
Gold futures fell by 10.81% to $4,776 per troy ounce, while silver futures lost 28.56% to $81.675 per troy ounce.
Gold had accelerated its decline and was at $4,700.4 per troy ounce (-12.22%), silver had fallen by 35.32%, falling below $75 for the first time since January 8, 2025, to $74.01 per troy ounce.
