Global stock markets showed mixed performance on the previous trading day, APA-Economics reports.

Trading on U.S. stock exchanges closed higher. The Dow Jones index rose by 0.05% to 50,668.97 points, the S&P 500 index increased by 0.58% to 7,563.63 points, and the Nasdaq Composite index gained 0.91% to reach 26,917.47 points.

European markets, meanwhile, recorded declines. The FTSE 100 index fell by 0.75% to 10,425.96 points, the DAX index dropped by 0.34% to 25,092.25 points, and the CAC 40 index decreased by 0.23% to 8,188.87 points.

Major indices in the Asia-Pacific region posted positive performance. The Nikkei 225 index rose by 2.29% to 66,174.88 points, the TOPIX index increased by 1.92% to 3,976.75 points, and the Hang Seng index gained 1.10% to reach 25,281.43 points. The CSI 300 index rose by 0.06%, while the S&P/ASX 200 index advanced by 1.34%.

Analysts attribute the gains to optimistic expectations regarding the U.S. economy, strong financial results from technology companies, and growing investor interest in risk assets. In Europe, however, concerns over slowing economic growth and the possibility of interest rates remaining high for an extended period increased selling pressure.
