Azerbaijani parliament confirms protocol to be added to European Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev-APA. Azerbaijani parliament has today discussed the issue on the protocol that will be added to the European Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism. It was noted that Azerbaijan joined the European Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism in 2004. MP Aydin Mirzazade said the protocol that will be added to the convention covers items on prevention of terrorism.
MP Ali Huseynov said Azerbaijan would confirm the protocol of the convention conditionally.
â€œIt will be noted that Azerbaijan will not be able to ensure prevention of terrorism fully, since a part of the countryâ€™s territory is under occupation. The note is also added to the document,â€ he said.
The parliamentarians said Azerbaijan was the country suffering from terror. The document was approved after the discussions.
