“Azerbaijan has joined more 50 international conventions by now. Confirmation of Azerbaijani rights to international conventions continues,” said Ali Huseynov, chair of the Azerbaijan’s parliament commission for law and government affairs, APA reports
Huseynov noted that work is underway to make criminal law more humanists.
“Working Group was established on improvement of Criminal Code in Supreme Court. Proper debates are carried out and proper decisions can be adopted on separate Articles,” he said. He noted that Alternative Military Service bill has not yet adopted.
“Objective reasons prevent adoption of Alternative Military Service bill in Azerbaijan. Right defenders and NGOs representatives should assist us to give correct information to public on this issue. If there is correct information and clauses of law are solved, there will not be any problem in the adoption of bill,” he said./APA/
