Azerbaijani Parliament debates media situation

MPs touched upon some matters in parliamentâ€™s meeting today while debating current issues. MP Fazil Gazanfaroghlu expressed concern over the delay of approval of laws on education and political parties, APA reports.
MP Ganira Pashayev proposed to introduce amendments to Family Code. She said the Family Code should have article requiring young people health certificate while getting married. MPs Fuad Muradov and Ali Ahmadov proposed to amend law on media introducing the law notes about the fields which journalists will cover.
Ali Amadov said journalistsâ€™ seeking political asylum abroad is political show. Panah Huseyn said Azerbaijanâ€™s media and press freedom is in danger, newspapers are being closed and journalists are being persecuted. Bahar Muradova protesting him said the journalists will be persecuted until they follow law on State secret. MP Igbal Aghazada said Iranian Azerbaijanis are being suppressed in Iran. He said Iranian Ambassador should be invited to parliament to discuss the issue. /APA/
