Russian diplomat: Kurds must attend Syrian talks

Baku. Turbet Baghirova – APA. Russia insists on Kurds being involved in the Syrian talks, because the opposition is impossible to be represented in the talks without them.

Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Office of the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva Ambassador Alexey Borodakvin told the aforesaid, APA reports quoting TASS.

He mentioned that the Moscow Group formed in Hmeymim, Cairo group, a group representing Syrian women and opposition groups from Er Riyadh are attending the talks. “However, we should invite Syrian Kurds to be fully inclusive. We insist them being involved in the talks as before. Syrian Kurds are citizens of Syria and have the right to participate in determining the destiny of their own country. Any issue related to Syria's future state structure, terrorism and humanitarian assistance cannot be solved without the participation of Syrian Kurds”, said the Russian diplomat.
