Al-Baghdadi is said to have died of a severe injury, APA reports citing foreign sources.
“The death of the “caliph” has not been confirmed by any official source yet. Pictures of a man resembling al-Baghdadi were posted on social networks, but Iraqi officials and U.S. special forces refuse to comment in this regard.
Whereabouts of al-Baghdadi’s body are still unknown.
Note that, the incident was first reported by Iraq’s AIN information agency, which said al-Baghdadi had been wounded as a result of U.S. airstrikes in the Al Qaim region.
Iraqi intelligence did not ruled out the possibility that IS members might have taken their leader to neighboring Syrian.
