Baku-APA. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will attend the UN General Assembly in New York, the Iranian government's spokesman Mohammad-Baqer Nobakht was quoted as saying by official IRNA news agency on Wednesday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
There is no meeting plan with U.S. President Barack Obama during Rouhani's visit to New York, Nobakht said, adding that details of Rouhani's attendance to the assembly meeting on Sept. 25 will be announced later.
Rouhani's forthcoming visit to New York is his second presence in the United Nations since 2013.
Fresh round of nuclear talks between Iran and the so-called P5+ 1 group -- namely Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States plus Germany -- has been scheduled for Wednesday in New York.
The talks will start as Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif and European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton meet at lunch which will be followed by bilateral meetings between Iranian negotiators and representatives from the P5+1 group.
