Baku-APA. A resolution urges Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to comply with the international norm in terms of Pyongyang's nuclear program was adopted by the annual general conference of the UN atomic agency the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Friday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The resolution which was submitted by eight countries, including the United States and the Republic of Korea, calls upon DPRK to refrain from conducting any further nuclear test pursuant to the relevant United Nation's Security Council Resolutions.
Pyongyang conducted three nuclear tests in the past eight years, which were seen as defiant activities by the nuclear nonproliferation regime.
According to the IAEA report, PDRK might restart the 5 million watt Graphite moderated reactor and other activities in Yongbyon, however, the agency could not confirm the factor because the inspectors are not allowed to get access to the site any more.
The resolution urged Pyongyang to halt all such activities.
DPRK withdrew from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in 2003, and repelled all the UN inspectors in the country.
