The car driven by Ömer DoÄŸaner collided with another car along the Sivrihisar-Mihalıççık road on the Saturday, the third day of the holiday which began on Thursday. AyÅŸe, Nebahat, Miyase and Umut Borat DoÄŸaner died in the accident along with driver Ömer DoÄŸaner.

According to the DoÄŸan news agency, a total of 64 people died so far since Thursday in road accidents across the country.
In the one of the deadliest accidents ahead of the holday, seven people were killed and 40 more injured in a traffic accident involving two buses in Bolu early on Wednesday morning.

The accident happened at around 4:15 a.m. when the bus driver lost control on the TEM highway near the Mount Bolu tunnel as the roads had become slippery due to rain. The bus flipped onto its side, hitting the road barriers, after which a bus driving behind it attempted to brake but also crashed into the roadside barriers.

In recent years there has been an increase in traffic accidents during the Eid al-Fitr holiday as drivers aim to get to their destinations -- whether it is the home of relatives or a holiday destination -- as fast as possible. This leads drivers to speed and disobey other traffic rules and, in turn, increases the risk of road accidents.
