Baku-APA. At least 15 more people were injured on Monday afternoon as clashes erupted again between protesters and police in Pakistani capital of Islamabad, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
According to the reports, the clashes started again after protesters of the Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) marched towards the Prime Minister's House in the Red Zone of the capital.
Police fired tear gas shells, rubber bullets and used baton charge at demonstrators to disperse them, who were also pelting stones at police.
Earlier in the day, at least two top police officials were beaten by the protesters with sticks when they were leading a police contingent to disperse them.
Both officials were rushed to the hospital where both were reportedly found in stable condition.
Later on, demonstrators stormed state-run Pakistan Television's headquarters and smashed window panes and other material that led to the suspension of the transmission. Protesters also took away all the food and drinks from the cafeteria of the television station.
Personnel of the Pakistan army, who is responsible to protect the building, rushed to the site and vacate the building from the protesters, who became violent on Saturday night after a 17-day long peaceful sit-in in Islamabad.
The workers of the Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) and the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI), the organizers of the sit-in, have been holding protest for their demands including the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
