Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte discussed the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, APA’s Istanbul correspondent reports.
During the meeting, Erdoğan emphasized that Türkiye is intensifying efforts to end the war with a lasting and just peace. He noted that he has been in talks with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and reaffirmed Türkiye’s firm support for a comprehensive ceasefire.
Erdoğan also stated that NATO should not become a party to the conflict and stressed the importance of seizing the current opportunity for peace.
