Saudi Arabia and South Korea are in the final phase of large-scale cooperation in the defense industry, including sectors such as air defense systems, firepower, and armaments, the South Korean government said on Monday, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"We intend to cooperate so that our weapons systems using our excellent defense industry technologies help strengthen Saudi Arabia's defense capabilities, and this will serve as a strong force for further expanding our achievements in defense industry exports," Principal Deputy National Security Adviser Kim Tae-hyo said.
According to the government representative, the proposal comes after Korea's defense industry exports reached an all-time high of $17.3 billion last year.
