Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif held a phone conversation today with the President of the Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, APA reports, citing the Prime Minister’s Office of Pakistan.

The parties held extensive discussions on ongoing military operations in the region and peace efforts.

“The Prime Minister once again strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing attacks against Iran, including the recent strikes on civilian infrastructure yesterday. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity and support for the people of Iran during this difficult time,” the statement said.

Shehbaz Sharif also informed the Iranian President about Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to engage with the United States, Gulf, and Islamic countries to create a conducive environment for peace talks.

“He emphasized Pakistan’s firm support for the peace initiative and expressed hope that a joint path would be found to end hostilities,” the statement added.
