Baku-APA. A spokesperson for Prime Minister Ghassan Hitto of Syria's new interim government has urged international community for surgical strikes on the launching pads of regime-used Scud missiles in Syria, of which locations are known by all international agencies, APA reports quoting Todays Zaman.
During a meeting of Friends of Syria Group on Saturday in İstanbul, Yasser Tabbara, a spokesperson for Hitto stated that “If we [the Syrian opposition] are empowered by our friends and allies to stop Bashar al-Assad regime from launching Scud missiles, we do not have this crisis we live under the daily basis."
“Once we alleviate that threat [Assad bombardment,] we will be able to start repatriating refugees and start for government to gain confidence from the coalition within few weeks to function inside the Syrian ground,” he said.
Interim government, which is led by Hitto, is currently preparing to form a cabinet. A number of essential services, especially in the liberated areas by the armed oppositon, will be overtaken by the interim government as soon as the consensus is reached among the opposition.
The core group meeting on Saturday was attended by foreign ministers of eleven countries, including Turkey, the United States and Arab and Western countries that support the opposition.
