Lebanon calls for AL meeting over Syrian refugees

Baku-APA. Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour on Friday urged Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Nabil al-Arabi to hold an urgent session to support Lebanon's efforts to aid the Syrian refugees, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

According to the MTV channel, Al-Arabi informed Mansour by phone he would call on Arab ministers to hold a meeting on the situation of refugees in Lebanon in the coming days.

Lebanon is seeking to establish a joint Lebanese-Syrian committee to deal with the issue of Syrian refugees across the country.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHRC) said in its latest report that 170,637 Syrian refugees have been registered in Lebanon while around 50,000 are still not registered.
