Baku. Real Jafarli – APA. Iran is deploying military forces along the borders with the neighbouring countries, said Iranian Ground Forces Commander, Major-General Ahmad Reza Purdastan, APA reports quoting IRIB.
According to him, this is connected with the upcoming presidential elections: “It’s important to defend Iran’s territorial integrity from possible threats as the presidential elections are coming. One of the main missions of the army is to strengthen security measures on the borders”.
The presidential elections will be held in Iran on June 14.
