Baku-APA. In view of increasing criticism of policemen, Bahrain's interior minister formed a special committee on Tuesday to probe potential violations committed by policemen, APA reports quoting news.xinhuanet.com website.
A committee, chaired by Public Security Chief Major General Tariq Hassan Al-Hassan, has been tasked to survey the violations and study means of addressing them.
The measure followed a video footage posted online showing a policeman slapping a citizen in Aali.
Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa slammed the policeman's behavior, adding that it embarrasses every policeman who has carried on their duty with dedication.
"Such outraging acts do not reflect the code of discipline enforced by the ministry," the minister said, stressing the importance of building bridges of confidence between security apparatus and the public.
