Baku-APA. Armed groups attacked a gas station in Syria's northern city of Aleppo on Wednesday, causing electricity blackout in many parts of the war-torn city, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Quoting Adnan Khamis, Syria's Minister of Electricity, SANA said the station produces 1,050 megawatts of electricity a day to feed Aleppo.
The minister said the assailants fired bombshells at the station, adding that the outage will continue around the clock.
Too many attacks have been carried out against Syria's energy sector over the 20-month-old crisis that resulted in millions of dollars in losses, reports said.
