The Israeli intelligence service officers are interrogating the director of the Al-Shifa hospital, located in the Gaza Strip, to obtain information about the infrastructure of the Palestinian radical Hamas movement on the site of this medical center, the official representative of the Israel Defense Forces, Doron Spielman told a briefing, APA reports citing TASS.
"Yes, he was detained by Israeli forces. Currently, we are obtaining information from him and asking questions about the fact that he was the head of the hospital under which an entire terrorist network operated. This process will continue and will move through the proper channels," he said in response to a request to comment on the fate of the hospital director.
"We're trying to get information. It was a good idea to detain him. how could he not know what was going on? We have video footage of the hostages, captured by CCTV cameras in his hospital," Spielman added.
"Under the hospital we found tunnels, in it we found weapons, and in its courtyard - the bodies of two dead. I believe that an average director of the hospital, if such strange circumstances were discovered, would report this. We are investigating this with him and after a proper analysis of the situation We will make progress in this regard," he concluded.
