Israel killed Hamas deputy leader Saleh al-Arouri in a drone strike in Lebanon's capital Beirut on Tuesday, Lebanese and Palestinian security sources said, as its forces kept pummelling parts of Gaza, vowing further "high-intensity" warfare against the Islamist militant group in the enclave, APA reports.
Hamas' Al Aqsa Radio and Lebanon's pro-Iranian Mayadeen TV confirmed word from security sources that Arouri, a member of the Palestinian Islamist movement's politburo based abroad and a co-founder of Hamas' military wing, the Qassam Brigades, had been killed when a drone struck a Hamas office in south Beirut.

An Israeli drone struck a Hamas office in the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital Beirut on Tuesday, killing four people, Lebanon’s state news agency reported, APA reports.
Senior Hamas official Saleh Al-Arouri was killed in the incident, Al-Manar television station of Hezbollah reported.
Al-Manar also said an explosion was heard near the Hadi Nasrallah highway close to a road junction.
It gave no details of the explosion, which comes a day before a speech by Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
A Reuters witness said the explosion may have been caused by a drone that hit the second floor of a building in the crowded neighborhood.
