Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that the Israeli security cabinet decided to stop the supply of electricity and food to the Gaza Strip, as well as the transport of goods, APA reports citing Teletrader.
He said the cabinet reached several other decisions with the aim of "destroying the military and governmental capabilities of Hamas," Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported.
Netanyahu said Israel is heading into a "long and grueling war" with the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which attacked Israel on Saturday. He said the first stage of Israel's response is "coming to a close with the destruction of the majority of enemy forces that have infiltrated into our territory." He added that the Israeli forces have now started an offensive formation "which will continue without reservation and without respite until the goals are achieved."
