The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stated that there is no risk of radiation release following the strikes on the heavy water plant in Khondab, Iran, APA reports.
"Iran informed the IAEA that the heavy water production plant in Khondab was also attacked today. No radiation hazard was detected as there is no declared nuclear material at the facility," the IAEA said in a statement.
The agency also noted that Iran reported an attack on a metallurgical plant in Khuzestan on March 27, which uses radioactive sources. There was no release of radiation outside the plant.
