Israel has said the first seven hostages due to be released by Hamas on Monday are in the hands of the Red Cross (ICRC), APA reports, citing DW.
The remaining hostages are expected to be freed at around 10 a.m. local time (0700 GMT).
The ICRC is to bring the hostages to the Israeli military for transfer to the Reim military base, where they will be reunited with relatives and undergo medical checks before being flown to hospitals if further treatment is necessary.
Israel will release 250 Palestinians sentenced to long-term imprisonment, as well as more than 1,700 Palestinian prisoners detained since October 7, 2023.
Note that a ceasefire was reached last night between HAMAS and Israel.
According to the ceasefire agreement, the withdrawal of Israeli troops, the delivery of humanitarian aid to the enclave, and the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners are planned.
